“Spring” is an original acrylic painting on watercolor paper measuring 8″ x 10.5″.

She was painted for my Rabbit Hole Artist Collective group auction, “Art Nouveau”, in May 2015. I had never attempted this style of painting before, and really enjoyed the stained-glass effect it produced. Sadly, the metallic gold paint on the crescent didn’t scan very well.

I chose goldfinches and monarch butterflies because they frequent my own cottage garden. :)

“When the sweet showers of April have pierced to the root the dryness of March and bathed every vein in moisture by which strength are the flowers brought forth…”

~ Geoffrey Chaucer, Canterbury Tales prologue

Archival prints and other gifts featuring “Spring” are available to purchase in my shop, and from me personally at art shows.
