Hanging in a cornfield, unable to scare away crows, and feeling sorry for himself, Scarecrow’s future brightens when he encounters Dorothy on the yellow brick road, and assists her in a grand adventure.
“Scarecrow Cat” is an acrylic painting from my feline adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s “Wonderful Wizard of Oz”; and one of four Cats of Oz portraits donated to the 2013′s “Art for the Animals” annual charity auction supporting Guiding Eyes for the Blind.
“If you only had brains in your head you would be as good a man as any of them, and a better man than some of them. Brains are the only things worth having in this world, no matter whether one is a crow or a man.” ~ The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
Archival prints of Scarecrow Cat can be purchased in my shop, and from me personally at art shows.
