Saint Lucy

“Saint Lucy” is an original acrylic painting on a wooden plaque, measuring 6″x8″. She was created for the holiday season, as St. Lucy’s Feast Day falls on December 13th.

According to various traditions, St Lucy wears a wreath of candles to bring light to the darkness of winter, and bears food to feed the hungry. In Scandinavian countries, she carries rolls or cookies. In the Meditteranean countries, notably Coatia and Hungary, she is associated with wheat grain… which is how I’ve chosen to depict her.

Archival prints and other gifts featuring “Saint Lucy” can be purchased online in my shop, and from me personally at art shows.
