Daisy appeared to Gatsby like an angel, alight with love and purity, although in reality she was a self-absorbed and materialistic creature.
“Daisy Buchanan Cat” is a acrylic painting from my Gatsby Collection, a series of cat portraits based on characters from the 1925 F. Scott Fitzgerald novel.
I find myself drawn to painting calico cats whenever the portrait subject is ultra feminine. Perhaps because calico kitties are generally female?
“Her face was sad and lovely with bright things in it, bright eyes and a bright passionate mouth, but there was an excitement in her voice that men who had cared for her found difficult to forget.” ~ The Great Gatsby
Archival prints of Daisy Buchanan can be purchased here in my shop, and from me personally at art shows.
