Cowardly Lion

The Cowardly Lion hides his fear behind a fearsome roar, until he meets Dorothy and her friends, and decides to join them on an adventure to find his courage.

“Cowardly Lion” is an acrylic painting from my feline adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s “Wonderful Wizard of Oz”; and one of four Cats of Oz portraits donated to the 2013′s “Art for the Animals” annual charity auction supporting Guiding Eyes for the Blind.

“If the elephants and the tigers and the bears had ever tried to fight me, I should have run myself ~ I’m such a coward; but just as soon as they hear me roar they all try to get away from me…” ~ The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

Archival prints of Cowardly Lion can be purchased here in my shop, and from me personally at art shows.
