“Lizzy Bennet” is an acrylic painting on a canvas panel, measuring 5″x7″.
She is my donation to the 12th annual AFTA (“Art For the Animals”) charity art auction, hosted by Howards’ Arts & Frames in Hagerstown, MD.
She has been professionally framed by Howards’ staff, and will be available for bidding in the silent auction, which runs Sept. 30th – October 21st.
The Opening Reception is tonight (September 30th) from 6:30PM – 8PM. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Washington County Humane Society this year.
“Mr Darcy Cat” is an acrylic painting on canvas panel, measuring 5″x7″.
He is modeled after my senior tuxedo kitty, Dominic, but without his curled ears. I painted Dominic as Mr. Darcy eight years ago, so it was fun to revisit this character again. :)
I had hoped to finish “Mr Darcy” before the AFTA deadline, but alas, it was not to be.
Instead, I have decided to list him on eBay.
In partnership with eBay for Charity and PayPal GivingFund, I will be donating 100% of the sale of “Mr Darcy” to Guiding Eyes for the Blind, as they were AFTA’s previous charity organization and I want to continue supporting them.
The auction starts tonight, September 30th, at 7PM EST (4PM PDT), and bidding begins at only $1 (one dollar!) There is no BIN price, so the sky is the limit – but all the money will go to Guiding Eyes, so it’s a good excuse to splurge a little bit! ;)
Click here for the link to the eBay listing ~ or search for seller TaraFlyArt on eBay ~ this auction will be live tonight at 7PM EST.
The eBay auction ends in 7 days, on Friday night, October 6th. I will be shipping the painting out on Tuesday, October 10th, as Monday is a postal holiday.
My 2018 Literary Cats Calendars are in production, thanks to 42 backers who pledged to our Kickstarter campaign! If you missed the Kickstarter, however, there is still time to reserve your calendars before I take them to my upcoming shows, where they may sell out; I only ordered 60 extra copies! :P
Click here to PRE-ORDER your 2018 Literary Cats Calendar today! I will ship orders by October 14th.
Next weekend ~ October 7th & 8th (10AM – 5PM) ~ I will have a booth at the 43rd annual Apple Butter Festival. This is my 4th year participating as a vendor, although I’ve attended many years as “a local” when I lived in Berkeley Springs. :)
My booth will be set up along the main street (S. Washington St), facing the parade with my back to the town park. The festival is free to attend, and there are activities for the entire family! Visit the Apple Butter Festival’s website for directions and weekend schedule.
**Note: it is unlikely that I’ll have the 2018 Literary Cats Calendars at this show. They will probably be riding in a UPS truck over the weekend. I do hope to have them in-stock for the Fairie Festival on Oct. 14th & 15th.
Which brings me to….
Spoutwood Farm, located in southern York County, Pennsylvania, has hosted a Fairie Festival in early May for the past 26 years. This year, the unpredictable spring weather was especially wicked, with torrential rains & flooding forcing the Fairie Fest to shut down early – for the first time ever in its history. The coordinators decided to hold a Fall Fairie Festival, to hopefully recoup some of their losses, but they faced a further obstacle when trying to obtain the necessary town code permits for a brand new festival.
So… The 1st Spoutwood Fall Fairie Fest is being held at Ramblewood Campground in Darlington, MD.
Ramblewood currently hosts the Maryland Faerie Festival;it is a gorgeous location ~ and the fairie folks of Spoutwood have promised to bring their own magic to Ramblewood! :)
I was personally invited by the fairie folks at Spoutwood to participate as a vendor, and I’m very excited to finally be part of Spoutwood tradition!
My final event in October is a one-day cat show on the 21st, from 9:30AM – 5PM, sponsored by the Washington branch of the CFA.
Over 200 pedigreed and household pet cats will be competing for awards in six rings of judging. Cats and kittens will be available for adoption, and there will also be opportunities to purchase cat-related gifts for humans & their feline masters. I am returning as a vendor, and will have the 2018 Literary Cats Calendars in-stock at my booth!
I had a fun time at this show last year ~ meeting lots of beautiful kitties and watching them being groomed for the show ring! If you’ve never been to this type of event, it is fascinating, and I am looking forward to attending again this year! =^,,^=
I hope to see some of you soon!
Don’t forget to order your calendars…
And thank you so much for your continued support! =^,,^=
The January/February edition of Catster magazine arrived at my studio doorstep, and guess who has a feature interview on page 11...? ❤️🐈🎨

I have a surprise Sans in my lap this afternoon. He doesn’t often get the opportunity, nor does he stay long. :) http://ift.tt/2yH8QwF

Every time I order ink from Staples, they send a coupon for a case of wine. I order a lot of ink. What are they trying to say??? 😅 http://ift.tt/2yLExUx
I'm just going to go knock over the vase of flowers on the table, stare at a random place on the wall for a few minutes, kill a roll of toilet paper, and then go hog the bed pillows. I need my beauty rest.

Yesterday I wanted to turn my clock back a year.
