Rabbit Hole Artist Collective ~ Gothic Fairytales

I apologize that I’m a bit late in posting the link to the February auction for The Rabbit Hole Artist Collective on Facebook. Hehe, February is technically over, but the auction is still going!

I finished half of my planned two-piece painting, based on my favorite fairy-tale, “The Colony of Cats”. It was published in the Crimson Fairy Book in 1903, but you can read the story online here. :)
[Warning: the background of this website is bright pink! haha]

The Colony of Cats

Gothic Fairy-tale Cat Portrait by TaraFly

This piece, which I’ve decided to title “Colony of Cats” (in reference to the fairy-tale), is an acrylic painting on watercolor paper, measuring 5″x7″. It has been signed, dated, sealed with varnish, and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

My other half of the Cat Colony sketch is still unfinished, but I’m close to getting it done!
I will probably list it on eBay in early March, so stay tuned to my social media accounts (Facebook/Twitter) for details. :)

The Rabbit Hole Artist Collective ~ “Gothic Fairy-tales” Auction ~ Ending March 3rd

The auction ends on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2015… 2:00PM EST. There are several gorgeous original paintings for sale this month. The highlight of the auction (so far) has been our newest member Martin Woodhead’s “Beauty and the Beast” painting, which sold within the first 24 hours for several thousand dollars!

He is definitely an artist worth watching, as someone who is super dedicated to mastering his craft, and also a very nice guy. Check out his Facebook page, “Pretty Piece of Flesh”, to see what he’s currently painting! :)

March’s auction over at the Rabbit Hole will be centered around the theme, “Webs and Wings”. I have already seen a few work-in-progress shots my fellow Rabbits are posting; it’s going to be great!

March will also be an extremely busy month for me! In addition to completing one special project and my “Webs and Wings” submission, I also have two shows to prep for this month.

I will be attending the Spring Farmer’s Market show on March 21st, and I’ve booked a booth at the Super Pet Expo at the Dulles Expo Center, in Chantilly, VA!
I’ve never been to a “pet expo” before, but several people have suggested that I apply for Cat Shows. The Super Pet Expo sent out advertisements looking for Cat-related Vendors, so it was the purr-fect opportunity to try out a new market venue! :)

You can see all the details on my brand new “Upcoming Shows & Events” page on my website. I will updating this page with show dates as my acceptance letters arrive. I have a few applications sent out, and my paws are crossed that I will be adding new venues throughout the year. :)

My brief period of rest and semi-relaxation is over, and it’s time to get back to work! :P
See you soon!
